Making a Gift to the Columbia College Foundation
The Columbia College Foundation promotes quality higher education that enriches the academic, economic, and cultural life of our community.
Our mission is to promote student success by providing community resources that support and expand educational opportunities for Columbia College's students.
Overview
The Columbia College Foundation recently participated in an historic fundraising campaign to establish the California Community Colleges Scholarship Endowment. Thanks to the generosity of our community, we were able to raise $193,834, and gain an additional $96,917 in matching funds from the Bernard Osher Foundation.
Donors that contributed $13,500 or more were able to name the $1,000 scholarship generated from their gift each year. Named Osher Scholarships include: the Don Brady Scholarship, Joyce & Ed Brockman Scholarship, Marjorie L. Coffill Memorial Scholarship, Bob & Helen Francis Memorial Scholarship, four Front Porch Scholarships, Mick Grimes Scholarship, Holder Family Scholarship, Elwood & Elizabeth Johnson Scholarship, Irving J. Symons Memorial Scholarship, John Wise Scholarship, and Millie Wise Scholarship.
What this means for Columbia College Students
While California Community College enrollment fees are low, tuition currently represents just 5% of the total educational costs for students. Osher Scholarships assist students with textbooks, equipment, uniforms, and other instructional supplies.
2011-2012 School Year
Columbia College Foundation will be able to offer 12 Osher Scholarships in the Fall 2011.
Applications are available here. Applications must be completed and returned to the Scholarship Office by October 14, 2011.
2012-2013 School Year and Beyond
Columbia College Foundation will be able to offer 19 Osher Scholarships beginning in the Fall 2012 .
